From tower tours to tree planting days, look no further for half-term days out across Winchester district this February
It's February half-term in Winchester (Monday 16 to Friday 20 February 2026 in Hampshire) and we have some great ideas to keep you and your little ones busy over the school break. From magic tricks and music to craft workshops and theatre shows, there is something for everyone in and around Winchester this February half-term.
Check out baby opera, tower towers and a new family trail all under the warm glow of the Sun at Winchester Cathedral, who is hosting a huge suspended sun sculpture over February. Meanwhile The Watercress Line has had a magical makeover for the week in February with tricks and shows during Magic of Locomotion week.
Art fans won't want to miss the pop art poster making session at The Arc or the immersive Van Gogh Alive experience at Winchester Science Centre. Why not round off your week with a performance of The Tiger Who Came to Tea at Theatre Royal Winchester or a few hours getting your hands dirty at a family tree planting day at Hinton Ampner.
We'll be updating this page with more events for February half-term 2026 as soon as they are announced.

Alternative things to do for February half-term
Spot the signs of spring with a walk up St Catherine's Hill, through Winnall Moors or along Bishop's Waltham's old railway line footpath.
Head out for brunch or babycinos at one of the many family-friendly cafés in Winchester and the district's market towns. Josie's has an especially kid-pleasing menu.
You'll find natural play areas and dens to explore in Winchester's West Wood or Forest of Bere, just outside of Wickham. There are always hungry ducks (and maybe ducklings) to feed along the river in Alresford.
