About Here comes the Sun

The Helios artwork by artist Luke Jerram is coming to Winchester for the first time in January 2026 to brighten up your new year.  Visit Winchester Cathedral to marvel at its beauty or join one of the many events and activities that will be taking place in the sunshine, from pilates and musical performances to silent discos and after hours viewings.

Helios is a touring artwork of the Sun by UK artist Luke Jerram. Measuring seven metres in diameter, the artwork features 72dpi detailed imagery of the Sun’s surface. At an approximate scale of 1:200 million, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 2000km of the Sun’s surface.

Tickets: Event tickets are on sale now. Standard entry to see the Sun is included with an annual pass.
