About Heritage Open Days 2026

We'll be updating this page with more information for Heritage Open Days 2026 as soon as it is announced.

Taking place each September, Hampshire Heritage Open Days is a free ten-day festival run by Hampshire History Trust. The festival celebrates Winchester’s history, architecture and cultural heritage - that includes everything from old buildings, transport, gardens, open spaces, theatre, household objects, books, fashion, postcards, to food and drink!

The festival is part of the national Heritage Open Days scheme and every year creates a diverse and local programme of events. In 2025, the festival was on the theme of architecture.

Architecture shapes our world, telling stories of innovation, craftsmanship, and heritage. From medieval cathedrals to modern marvels, the 2025 festival invites you to explore the structures that define Winchester’s past and future. Through guided walks, expert talks, and behind-the-scenes tours, discover how our architectural heritage influences our daily lives.
