Winchester's 12 days of of Christmas Competition

Visit our Facebook and Instagram pages every day between 1-12 December and enter Visit Winchester’s 12 Days of Christmas Competition for your chance to win one of 12 spectacular prizes.

Look out for the competition posts each day on the Visit Winchester Facebook and Instagram pages to discover some of the great gifts from our local businesses around the Winchester district. ‘Like’ the post AND comment your answer to the question(s) for your chance to enter.

The competition closes at midnight each night (1-12 December 2023).

One prize winner will be drawn daily from all entries on both Instagram and Facebook that day and will be announced the following day. The winner will be contacted by Visit Winchester either via our social media channels or by our email advertising@winchester.gov.uk. Please note you will only be contacted by our official channels and we will not ask for any payment details.

Prize 1 (1 December)

4 tickets to see this year’s pantomime – Cinderella at the Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 6 December at 7pm.

A magical retelling of the greatest fairy tale of them all, with original songs, loads of corny gags, audience participation and some surprising twists to the tale, everyone is bound to have a ball!

The pantomime is family-friendly and traditional in format with a hero, a villain, a dame and lots of music and audience participation.

The running time will be approximately 2 hours with an interval of 15-20 minutes after one hour.

Prize 2 (2 December)

2 for 1 on the Christmas Mulled Wine Walk with Walsh Tours.Mulled wine

Starting at Westgate; the medieval entrance to our historic town, you’ll then head to the Great Hall of Winchester Castle and hear about the legend of King Arthur. Afterwards, meander the High Street with its beautiful Christmas lights and tree. Hearing stories of Winchester and global holiday traditions. Soak up the atmosphere with an included glass of Mulled Wine (or hot drink).

Tours cost £16 and run until Thursday 21 December and last 90 mins.

Prize 3 (3 December)

Glow Marwell family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) for entry on Friday 8 December. 

Venture through a 36 metre multicoloured light tunnel, gaze in wonder at a towering Enchanted Tree with fluttering butterflies, wander through colourful clouds projected overhead and meet some new creatures brought to life in a magical Glow Forest.

Tickets include complimentary zoo entry from 1pm until 4pm and then the Glow Marwell event itself runs from 4pm until 8pm.

Please note that Friday 8 December is a Premium Night so there will be performance acts on that date but no Father Christmas.

A family ticket for 2 adults and up to 3 children to visit the Winchester Science Centre for Science Dino-mite which runs until 2 January.

Dino Rangers have sprinkled prehistoric cheer around the Science Centre ready for a Jurassic adventure. Join the excavation team in Dino Dig, handle real fossils in Dino Discovery, meet Trixie the baby Triceratops, find the hidden dinosaurs in the Dino Activity Trail and be wowed by live science in the brand new Science Theatre show, The Dino Show.

The museum tells the story of this remarkable building, and the history of Tudor and Stuart Winchester. It also offers great rooftop city views.
