As the days start to shorten and the nights get darker and chiller, we're looking ahead to what's coming up in Winchester this autumn and beyond. Luckily there's lots on to lift our spirits and brighten up the darker months of the year. And we mean that literally.
Before the city is transformed by the annual Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market and a whole load of twinkly festive lights, we've got October half-term with its glowing Halloween lanterns and Bonfire Night, when Winchester district will be lit up with cracking bonfires and glittering firework displays.
So let's get planning: here are the local fireworks displays and Bonfire Night events taking place in and around Winchester district during November 2025.Â
🎆 Winchester, Saturday 8 November
Winchester Bonfire & Fireworks are taking place on Saturday 8 November this year at North Walls Recreation Ground. From 6:00pm, the free torchlit procession will make its way from Winchester Guildhall up the High Street and across Jewry Street before heading to the firework and bonfire display, which is ticketed. All proceeds from the event will be donated to various charities across the district. Tickets go on sale on 20 September.
🎆 Alresford, Friday 7 November
Alresford Rotary returns for its annual torchlit procession, bonfire and fireworks display on Friday 7 November, with proceeds from the event going to various charitable organisations. The celebrations will begin at 7:00pm, where the Torchlight Procession will begin at the top of Broad Street and finish at Arlebury Park. From here, the bonfire will be lit at 7:45pm, with fireworks at 8:00pm. Tickets go on sale on 1 October.
🎆 Bishop’s Waltham, Saturday 8 November
Friends of Bishops Waltham Junior School are hosting their annual fireworks night on Saturday 8 November at Hoe Road Recreation Ground. The event will help to raise money for Bishop’s Waltham Junior School and other local groups. Gates will open at 6:00pm for refreshments and the fireworks show.
🎆 Hursley, Friday 7 November
Join Hursley Sports and Social Club for the return of A Night of Fireworks on Friday 7 November. With gates opening at 6:00pm, you’ll have time to visit The Clubhouse and food village before the fireworks launch at 8:00pm. Tickets are available to purchase from Hursley Sports and Social Club and Hursley Community Shop & Post Office, from 30 September.
🎆 Whiteley, Sunday 2 November
Head to Whiteley's Meadowside Recreation Ground for an early fireworks fix on Sunday 2 November. Gates open for the Whiteley Town Council Fireworks Spectacular at 4:15pm with the fireworks themselves starting at 7:15pm. There will also be music, food stalls and fairground rides. Tickets required.
🎆 Fireworks at The Plough, Saturday 1 November
The Plough Inn in Sparsholt, just outside Winchester, is putting on a Halloween and fireworks night on Saturday 1 November. There will be fireworks, a bonfire, live music, a bar and hot dogs - plus a Halloween fancy dress competition. Winners will be announced at 6:00pm before the fire is lit at 7:00pm and the fireworks begin at 7:30pm. Tickets required.
🎆 Dummer Down Farm Bonfire Night, Saturday 8 November
Dummer Down Farm and Brewery are hosting their annual bonfire and fireworks night on Saturday 8 November. Expect food trucks, local ales and big bangs. The event is ticketed.
🎆 Fireworks Night at The Dell, Saturday 8 November
Head to The Dell near West Meon on Saturday 8 November for spectacular fireworks, a glowing beacon bonfire and lots of delicious food and drinks. Tickets need to be booked in advance.
🎆 South Wonston Bonfire and Fireworks 2025, Saturday 1 November
South Wonston Recreation Ground will be the setting for fireworks and a burning bonfire on Saturday 1 November. There will be music, food and drink plus the fireworks, after the gates open at 5:30pm. Entrance is free with a suggested donation on the gate.
