The zoo’s flamingos, penguins, giraffes and black and white ruffed lemurs are all taking a starring role as people tune in to watch their daily activities.
Viewings have increased nearly 27,000% since mid-March with 64,000 people tuning in compared to 187 previously. The Flamingos seem to be the headliners as they perform elaborate group courtship displays such as synchronised wing-raising and ‘head-flagging’ – over 34,500 people have been watching the flamingo webcam compared to just 86 before the Zoo had to close it doors due to Government measures.
