The team has been working hard to ensure everything is ready for your visit. Pick up some local produce, your favourite Jane Austen novel or a souvenir of your visit to the district (no matter how local you live). Choose your next walk from an abundance of trail leaflets to inspire you, and the friendly team are ready to answer any queries you may have. They can also update you on which attractions you need to prebook before you visit and any other new processes or procedures in place.
Whether you are a regular to the VIC or if this is your first visit you can expect to see some changes introduced to the centre to reassure and look after all our visitors and staff. We have adopted Visit England’s industry standard mark ‘We’re good to go’ which means we are able to demonstrate adhering to Government and public health guidelines, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and have the necessary processes in place.
The layout of the centre now incorporates a one-way system to allow customers to view everything on offer and seek assistance from the team whilst maintaining a social distance. Please help yourself to hand sanitiser provided at the entrance and don’t forget to wear a face covering when you come in. Please only touch the items you plan to purchase. Access to the Guildhall though the VIC is currently unavailable.

The VIC is currently open Monday to Saturday from 10am until 3pm.
