Address:
The Royal Logistic Corps Museum, Connaught Road, Worthy Down, Winchester, SO21 2RGAbout Wargaming at the RLC Museum
The Royal Logistic Corps Museum are delighted to be joined by members of the Wargaming community who will be setting up intricate, detailed and accurate miniature models of famous campaigns in the museum. See the delicately painted models set amongst custom made terrain to bring to life some of the most famous battles from history...and prehistory. The models are the product of hours of work by local Wargame enthusiasts, who will be on hand to talk to the public about their work and how to get involved.
Whether you’re a seasoned strategist or new to tabletop model making, this engaging experience invites you to explore the role of model making in historical interpretation. With expert guides on hand, and the museum with 300 years of military history on display, it’s a perfect day out for families, hobbyists, and history enthusiasts alike.
*ALSO* the team are delighted to announce that the Marquess of Winchester's Regiment are joining us to support our Wargamers to bring military history to life. Members of the Regiment will interact with visitors and share insights into the experiences of soldiers during the English Civil War. Through informal demonstrations and conversations, and authentic replica uniform, weapons and equipment, they help to make history accessible and engaging for all ages.
A great free day out to start the New Year.
