About The Colour Factory Artists: The Everyday

The Colour Factory Artists exhibition in The Arc's City Space is a celebration of variety; of disciplines, processes and the lens through which each artist sees the world. Some view it in colour and emotion; some through the serenity of nature and the great outdoors. Some through the joy of life’s little treasures or the details of the objects that surround them; some in terms of the other beings walking this world. Each of these elements is captured in the artists’ own contemporary way; immersing fully in the creativity, taking as much joy in the mess, the problem solving and the very hands-on processes as they do in seeing the finished pieces.

Each piece is very different to the next, created away from the others, yet the pieces can sit together harmoniously as if they were designed to be together.

The Colour Factory has been written into Winchester’s creative history as an unwavering, unfinished chapter for the past 32 years. It is a not-for-profit organisation, of which each of the artists are directors and contribute to its day to day running. The artists each have their own studios where they work on their individual practice, alongside running workshops and courses, and working on bespoke pieces and community projects. The artists include Jenny Muncaster, Rachael Alexander, Rosie Parmley, Carol Wade and Emily Smith.
