In this fascinating talk, “Dressing the Past: The Surprises, Comforts, and Revelations of Wearing Regency Garments”, you'll discover what it actually felt like to wear Regency clothing. Sharing her own experiences of making and wearing historical garments, Serena will reveal the ingenious solutions that women found to clothe their bodies.
Dr Serena Dyer FRHistS is a historian, broadcaster, author and curator, specialising in the history of fashion, making and shopping. Serena is also Associate Professor of Fashion History at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.
This event is also available as part of a talks double bill and is part of the Dress Up Day weekend at Jane Austen’s House.
