- 3 December - 22 December 2026
Address:
Gilbert White's House, The Wakes, Selborne, GU34 3JHAbout Museum by Moonlight: Penguin Light Trail
Explore the magic of Antarctica this Christmas at an eco-conscious light trail at Gilbert White's House & Gardens, the home of Antarctic explorer Captain Oates’ collections.
Follow penguins on a magical family adventure through the museum, including the Oates galleries. Enjoy fun hands-on activities, children’s crafts, stories of the Antarctic explorers and, of course, lots of lights! You'll discover the night sky with lights and constellation crafts, dress up as an explorer and step inside a real Antarctic tent, travel back in time to Captain Scott’s midwinter feast and step outside to enjoy a Christmas lights trail featuring glowing penguins and a giant moon.
The eco-conscious outdoor lights are designed with wildlife in mind, using carefully considered lighting that disturbs nature at little as possible.
Dates: Thursday 3 - Tuesday 22 December (selected days only).
Tickets: from £13.50 Adult, £9.50 Children.
