About The Itchen Way
Starting at the source of the River Itchen, one of Hampshire's precious chalk streams, near Cheriton, The Itchen Way is a 30-mile walking trail which finishes in Southampton, where the river meets the English Channel.
The route passes through Cheriton, Tichborne, the edge of Alresford and Itchen Abbas before reaching Winchester. Here The Itchen Way takes walkers past City Mill, the city's water meadows and St Catherine's Hill on its route south towards the sea.
