Linking Winchester to Farnham, this historic walk takes a rural path through Hampshire and Surrey countryside. Often considered to be the first part of a pilgrimage to Canterbury, since it connects with the North Downs Way at Farnham, which takes walkers on to Canterbury.
The route passes through Alresford, Alton and Chawton, the home of Jane Austen.
Start point: Winchester Cathedral.
End point: Farnham, Surrey.
Length: 34 miles.
