Just 30 minutes away from Winchester lies Ewhurst Park, a 925-acre haven for wildlife and people alike. With fun things to do for families, food lovers and nature enthusiasts alike, we’ve shortlisted the top 7 reasons to visit Ewhurst Park in 2025.
1. Walk in nature
Stepping into the park can feel like you’re on a safari. Ewhurst Park is home to otters, 90 bird species, beautiful longhorn cattle, and countless stunning plants and insects. The park has woodlands, grasslands, lakes and gardens and the whole site is alive with wildlife.
This June, the park will be hosting a rare opportunity to visit usually inaccessible areas of the landscape on a guided walk. Expert Rangers will describe the management practices and ethos of the site, showcasing key habitats and important species along the way. Tickets are available as an add-on to their Big Lunch Garden Party summer event.

2. One-of-a-kind experiences
Have you ever eaten hyper local dishes under a forest canopy surrounded by nature? At Ewhurst Park, you can at their flagship Wild Feast events.
These outdoor forest feasts are a spectacle to behold with communal tables and beautiful glassware melding with gnarled tree trunks and the earth at your feet.
Diners are treated to sharing plates curated by Chef Albi Ison featuring seasonal ingredients cooked to perfection; whether slow cooked for mature flavours or so fresh it’s as if they’ve just been pulled from the ground.
Many of the ingredients that feature are grown and foraged alongside nature at Ewhurst Park using methods that sustain and regenerate life. They are combined into colourful, curated sharing plates that balance flavours, textures and immaculate presentation for a food experience like no other.
3. Beavers!
Home to the first beavers in Hampshire for over 400 years, (yes, you read that right!), the Ewhurst Park beaver enclosure is an incredible place. There are signs of beaver activity everywhere you look, from dams and channels to felled trees and teeth marks on branches and if you’re lucky the beavers can sometimes be spotted at dawn or dusk.
Beavers were hunted to extinction in the UK in the 16th Century, prized for their fur and a natural secretion used in perfumes and medicine, but they’re now making a comeback after reintroductions in recent years.
Ewhurst Park is offering talks and tours of the enclosure later in the year for nature enthusiasts and it promises to be an informative and unique event.
Fans of the beaver family of 4 can also keep up with them on Instagram and Facebook where videos are posted regularly and where news of any more baby beavers is sure to be announced.

4. Reconnect with nature
Taking time out to reflect and be present in nature is more important than ever in our fast-paced digital rich world. Workshops at Ewhurst Park offer a rare opportunity to seek peace and wellbeing through the power of nature with likeminded individuals.
Guided by an expert, their Forest Bathing and Wellness Workshops include spending structured and unstructured time in ancient woodlands and the wider landscape. Guests are invited to explore their connection and attitude to nature, how they currently feel within themselves, and how they can harness nature connection for their current needs. Experience it for yourself!

5. Delicious produce
Ewhurst Park makes produce direct from their edible landscape including foraged jams (Wild Plum Conserve, anyone?), cut flowers, pressed juice, and ‘Chapter I’ gin using botanicals foraged from the site.
They also offer a Quality Meats Range of beef, pork and venison that can be collected on site weekly. All the livestock are primarily raised to help with the site’s nature restoration efforts, live outside all year round alongside nature, and have the opportunity to thrive.
In line with their nature friendly practices, the whole site also doesn’t use artificial fertilisers or pesticides and is in the process of being certified organic.

6. Join a community
Connecting with Ewhurst Park makes you part of a community of like-minded people passionate about the amazing nature on their doorstep and the great outdoors. Whether it’s communal dining, a summer garden party, bespoke workshops, family events, or school visits, there are myriad opportunities to get to know your neighbours and join the community.

7. Seasonal beauty
Each season at Ewhurst Park brings with it incredible sights and sounds including glorious bluebells, sounds of cuckoos and skylarks, strange and beautiful mushrooms and meadows that are full of life.
Visiting throughout the year brings new experiences every time, so why not go more than once and experience Ewhurst Park throughout the seasons?
