Inbound tourism on the rise for 2020

2020 is set to be a record year for inbound tourism according to forecasts released by Visit Britain. Following a national 1.3 million drop in visits to the UK for 2018, this number has been steadily rising with overseas visits forecast to reach 39.7 million in 2020. This record number is 2.9% higher than the forecast for 2019.

The national tourism agency VisitBritain has also shown that over the last decade inbound tourism to the UK has grown 33% from 29.8million in 2010 with spending increasing by 58%.

As a result of the increase in visitors to the UK this year, spending is predicted to reach a record £26.6billion, £1.6billion more than the expected amount for 2019.
