About Hundred Men's Hall (HMH) Tearoom

Step into a slice of history at the Hundred Men’s Hall Tearoom, a charming volunteer-run café nestled within the medieval courtyard of the Hospital of St Cross.

The tearoom occupies a beautiful medieval hall, once where up to a hundred poor men were fed daily. Today, it’s a quiet and charming setting to rest after exploring the site, framed by historic stone walls and gentle garden views. Volunteers behind the counter continue the tradition of community and warm welcomes, serving tea, coffee and a delightful selection of sweet treats.

The tearoom welcomes well-behaved dogs both inside and outdoors.

Shortlisted for Hampshire Chronicle's Café of the Year 2025!

The Hundred Men's Hall Tearoom is currently closed for winter. Reopening 1 April 2026.
