The Old Vine is a beautifully restored Grade II listed 18th-century inn in the heart of historic Winchester – moments away from the serene beauty of the cathedral, and conveniently located in the city centre, with its first-rate shopping, restaurants, bars and cafes.

The spacious, beautifully presented accommodation has picked up a number of accolades, including being listed in the AA’s Highly Commended list of hotels that go the extra mile for their guests, and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence recognizing the team’s dedication to great hospitality. The Old Vine is a bronze award winner in the Tourism Pub of the Year category at the Beautiful South Awards, which honours the best in tourism and hospitality across the region.

The rooms are an elegant mix of antique and contemporary, where Georgian, Arts and Crafts, Victorian and Art Deco furniture sits alongside the sumptuous fabrics and wallpapers of designers Osborne & Little, Zimmer + Rohde, Nina Campbell and Zoffany (which, incidentally, our rooms are named after).

The Old Vine offers double and twin rooms for double or single occupancy; a luxurious top-floor suite which commands a superb view of Winchester Cathedral; and a two-bedroom annexe, with living room and garage, which is perfect for families or extended stays.

All rooms feature deep pocket-sprung mattresses; Egyptian cotton bed linen; flat-screen TVs; complimentary Wi-Fi; beverage-making facilities, including a Nespresso coffee maker; mini-fridge with fresh milk and complimentary soft drinks; digital safe; hairdryer; and a spacious ensuite bathroom. White Company toiletries also included!

With 24-hour access guests are free to explore Winchester’s city centre; visit the cosy, oak-beamed bar; or book a table in the popular restaurant for lunch or supper in relaxed, friendly surroundings.

Come morning, freshly baked bread, free-range eggs, Hampshire sausage, juices, fresh fruit, tempting pastries and locally produced preserves are the ingredients for a wonderful breakfast, taken either in your room or in the restaurant – the perfect prelude to an exploration of the lively shops, fascinating historical buildings and tranquil open spaces of Winchester.
