The Museum of the County Regiment for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight – Serving the Crown for nearly 300 years.

Life size models are displayed showing how soldiers were dressed and equipped in the wars of the early and mid-eighteenth century, the First and Second World Wars and the Malayan campaign of the 1950s.

Follow the fortunes of the Regiment’s active service including the Battle of Minden, Germany in 1759 through wars in China, Afghanistan, India (the Mutiny and the North West Frontier), and South Africa to the great campaigns of the First and Second World Wars, and from 1946 onwards.

Road

From London leave the motorway at junction 11 of M3 (signposted Winchester South and South West). Follow the signs to St.Cross and Winchester.

After approximately 2 miles, you will be approaching the City Centre, the Royal Hampshire Regiment Museum is situated on the left hand side on Southgate Street, is between St Thomas’ Church and the Hotel du Vin.
