The Jane Austen House Museum is now open for visitors

Have you missed visiting this treasured Jane Austen destination, or have you been dreaming of visiting for the first time? Well the Jane Austen House Museum is opening its doors again.

Numbers into the house will be limited so the museum can welcome you back safely, and all tickets must be booked in advance. The museum will be open Thursday – Sunday and tickets will be released each month. There will be hourly entry times between 10:30am and 3:30pm so book your slot early to avoid disappointment. Normal concessions will apply for tickets, along with a new NHS workers concession. Visiting the museum will be a different experience compared to before, but also a more intimate one, and now visitors will be able to book exclusive access to the house for one hour for up to 15 people.

Book your slot and be one of the first to view the new displays, using scent and sound to bring the house to life. Step back in time to 1816 and experience moments of Austen’s life, including breakfast and morning piano practice.

When you enter the house there is now a one-way system in place to ensure visitor and staff safety. There is a two metre social distancing policy and the gift shop is using contactless payment. There are hand sanitising stations throughout and protective equipment for staff.

The Jane Austen House Museum has been given the Visit England Good to Go seal of approval.

So pre-book your tickets now and enjoy stepping back into Jane Austen history.
