Outside of the National Trust’s City Mill you can find a Judas tree (Cercis siliquastrum).
The Judas tree is a small spring-blooming tree that is simply beautiful, with lovely purple flowers which appear just before its leaves. This tree is set in the stunning location with the City Mill, which is the gateway to the South Downs National Park, in the background and the River Itchen flowing beside.
