A destination for grown-ups who haven’t outgrown going out

The Corner House has become a bit of an institution in Winchester. Likened to the cafe in the TV Series Friends, its shabby chic interior creates a laid back, informal environment, perfect for relaxing with a very fine cup of tea or locally ground coffee.

Offering an impressive selection of bottled beers and lagers, some cheeky wines and a legendary, Hampshire sourced menu, you’ll be hard pushed to decide on what to sample first! And let’s not forget the wonderfully moreish locally home-made cakes as well.

Open from early until late, The Corner House serves Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and of course Cake! It’s definitely somewhere you can talk, relax with friends, or share a table with your laptop – a fabulous home office!

The Corner House is part of the very local Little Pub Group, with three other establishments in the city all offering something a “bit different” and definitely worth visiting during your stay…

The Mucky Duck is Winchester’s premier sporting bar for the discerning lady and her good gentleman. Serving splendid tucker, spiffing ales and very quaffable wines.

The St James Tavern is a proper pub! Offering proper pub grub, bar lunches, suppers and brunch at the weekend. Just damned good pub food and award winning cask ales.

The Green Man is a little enclave of hospitality; a stylish hang-out, and a great meeting place for friends, family or an intimate tête-à-tête.
