A warm welcome to Mallard Cottage, an attractive 18th Century Grade II listed building, situated on part of the site where The Good Intent Ale House once stood, nestled in the heart of the historic City of Winchester.

Over the past 40 years our family has evolved the building into a home with original and natural character, where you can stay in comfort during your visit to the city.

The two en-suite bedrooms are large and airy with simplistic decor. Both are provided with fine satin cotton sheets, toiletries, 40” Smart TV’s to keep the modern traveller connected and free Wi-Fi throughout. With the room basics provided for, you need only bring your necessities.

Don’t feel confined to your room as beverage facilities are found in your shared fully functional kitchen/dining room, providing you with a home from home.

On those warm mornings, enjoy the garden’s beautiful nooks and niches along the tranquil winding path down to the River Itchen if in need of time away from daily life, watching the world pass by.

Complimentary tea / coffee / milk / eggs / cereals / bread / butter & jams are provided for in the kitchen as breakfast isn’t included in the room rate. If preferred, a cooked breakfast can be provided on request for an additional cost.
