The Black Chalk Estate lies on the banks of the River Test, making it a beautiful venue to visit and to taste some of England’s finest wines.
We offer tours around our stunning vineyards with a resident expert. You will then be treated to a relaxed tasting of their current range of wines. At present these include our ‘Classic, and our ‘Wild Rose’, both award-winning English Sparkling Wines.
Black Chalk Wine was started in 2015 by Jacob Leadley and his family. The idea was to create a range of wines that focused on quality, and to showcase the best that Hampshire has to offer. The 2015 vintage won multiple international awards, and the 2016 did not disappoint, with a gold medal for our Wild Rose in the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships.
Black Chalk use the traditional method to produce high quality English sparkling wine from the three classic varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Visitors will gain an insight into how the vines are grown and cared for, how the wine is produced, and will be treated to a tutored tasting. A complete vine-to-flute educational experience with some fun along the way!
There is also a spectacular Vine Circle, which is perfect for events or just to wander around with glass in hand.
