Over the past two years, up and down the country, collaborative campaigns have been taking place under the title This is Me. City Space is proud to be displaying this original material as a final celebration of the project’s achievements.

The exhibition has been planned to open alongside the display of two Grayson Perry tapestries, in the main gallery at The Arc. Perry’s Essex House Tapestries (The Gallery, 15 March – 12 June) tell the story of a fictional Essex born and raised woman, Julie Cope, as she journeys through life’s trials and tribulations. These fascinating portraits of Julie spurred us to extend the This is Me project, and to widen participation to champion the vibrancy of Winchester and Hampshire’s communities. Local groups, clubs, and partners make their own portraits and tell their own stories.

The exhibition will showcase submissions responding to three categories: This is me, This is us, and This is Winchester.
