Explore the highlights and hidden histories of Jane Austen’s House on this exclusive tour, led by the Director of the Museum.

Jane Austen’s House in the picturesque Hampshire village of Chawton is one of the most important literary sites in the world. It was in this inspiring cottage that Jane Austen’s genius flourished and where she wrote, revised, and had published all six of her globally beloved novels. Today Jane Austen’s House is a cherished museum, housing an unparalleled collection of Austen treasures. Highlights include Jane’s jewellery, letters, first editions of her novels and the table at which she wrote her much loved novels.

Join Director Lizzie Dunford for this exclusive guided tour and follow in Austen’s footsteps around her beloved home. Along the way, Lizzie will highlight some of her favourite objects from the museum’s treasured collection and share stories from this incredibly special place.
