This 45 minute tour includes part of the Warden’s Lodgings, home to the school’s historic library. There will be an exhibition of medieval manuscripts and an opportunity to see the study of John Harmar, one of the translators of the King James Bible.

There has been a library at Winchester College since the beginning of the 15th century, and we have several volumes given by the school’s founder, William of Wykeham (c.1324-1404). Over the past six centuries the collection has grown steadily, by gift and purchase, and now contains nearly ten thousand rare books.

This tour is a wonderful opportunity to see some highlights from the library, and to visit the rooms which form part of the Warden’s Lodgings.
