Come and join us at a special screening of Bright Star, the critically-acclaimed 2009 biopic of poet John Keats, to mark the 200th anniversary of the fateful visit to Winchester that inspired ‘To Autumn’.

Following Keats through the final few years of his life and his relationship with Fanny Brawne, Bright Star celebrates the passion and poetry of all-consuming love. Director Jane Campion, renowned for her Oscar-winning film The Piano, takes the audience on a journey that weaves between moments of lyrical tenderness, emotional intelligence and delicate sensuality.

Taking its title from a sonnet written by Keats during his relationship with Brawne, Bright Star is a filmic ode to poetry lovers everywhere – and what better place to watch it than at Winchester’s own library venue?
