Did you need another reason to enjoy the Jane Austen’s House Christmas experience? No? Well here is one anyway – the experience will be voiced by none other than Academy Award-winning Actress Dame Emma Thompson.

Thompson has recorded eight passages drawn from Jane Austen’s letter and novels which will feature in the online Christmas experience: The Twelve Days of Christmas – A Jane Austen Special. You can also hear the recordings as you walk through the house when it reopens, following the easing of restrictions.

The audio extracts will include scenes from Emma, Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion, as well as sections from Jane Austen’s letters to her sister Cassandra and her friend Martha Lloyd.
