A one-day family-friendly food and drink event, with street entertainment, cookery demonstrations, street traders, Hampshire Farmers Market and much more. The streets of Alresford are closed to traffic and the whole town becomes a pedestrian zone from 10am – 4pm. Come and join in the world-famous Watercress Eating competition, taste local produces, support unique businesses and enjoy a tipple or two whilst the children enjoy Punch & Judy or face painting.

Lights, camera, science! explores how light, not Computer Generated Imagery, could have been used in some of 2002’s top films. The Inspirers will use some explosive experiments to recreate famous moments from the movies. There will also be some ‘illuminating’ audience participation along the way.

Discover how the famous Star Wars light sabers can uncover the secrets of the light spectrum. Be wowed by real magic as Harry Potter’s spells explode into life. And be prepared for a spooky encounter with a special light demo that would leave Scooby Doo trembling.

Starring Matt McGrath (Jekyll in Jekyll and Hyde) as Bill Snibson and Olivia Conroy (Rita in Made in Dagenham) as Sally.

Bill Snibson, a Lambeth costermonger, is revealed to be the new Earl of Hareford and his newly-discovered aristocratic relations are horrified. Bringing him to Hareford Hall, they attempt to educate Bill about the ways of the gentry and to separate him from his cockney girlfriend Sally. The result? Chaos of the most comical kind!

With a host of hilarious characters, witty one-liners and toe-tapping, uplifting songs including the famous Lambeth WalkThe Sun Has Got His Hat On and Leaning On A Lamp PostMe and My Girl is a sublime and sunny treat for all fans of musical comedy!

This amateur production of Me and My Girl is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd.

Grab some fresh air, stretch your legs and absorb all of the beautiful sites that the city has to offer by picking up one of Winchester Visitor Information Centre’s many free self-guided trails to amble along at your own pace. You can either drop into the Winchester VIC on your visit or download a copy online.

Depending on what it is you would like to see and how far you would like to walk, there is a range of trails to suit your individual interests. The City Walk is a great place to start if you want to fully immerse yourself into Winchester city life whilst following the footsteps of King Alfred himself.

The beauty of this walk is that it is divided into three loops, so you can choose how much of the walk you’d like to do. Each loop is around 1 mile and takes approximately 1 – 1.5 hours.
