The Great Hall

Castle Avenue, Winchester

SO23 8UJ

The Winchester Portrait Exhibition will be displaying photographs of people who have made an impression on local life through their work and activities and who live in, or come from, Hampshire. The portraits have been taken by photographer Michael Butters and will be supported with artwork and sculpture by local artist Nadine Collinson.

The exhibition will be at The Great Hall, Winchester from Wednesday 26th April – Tuesday 2nd May supported by Eileen Berry, the Mayor of Winchester 2014/2015. All money raised will be donated to three charities, The Murray Parish Trust’s #2MillionSteps appeal, Winchester Cathedral and Friends of PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit) at Southampton University Hospital. The exhibition will be presented in association with The Peter Cooper Motor Group and Paris Smith LLP.

Over 100 subjects have been photographed for the exhibition (including James Murray and Sarah Parish) from wide and varied walks of life including celebrities, public figures and many “unsung heroes” who have given many years of service to some tremendous organisations throughout Winchester and Hampshire.

A book will accompany the exhibition which includes the portraits and articles about the portrait subjects and their diverse and fascinating stories. The book will be on sale during the exhibition and in local shops after the exhibition has concluded. In addition, there will be a silent auction online running for the month of April and throughout the exhibition week.

More information can be found by visiting the Winchester Portrait Exhibition website HERE.

The Silent Auction is LIVE now running from the 10th April till 8pm on the 2nd of May. Click here to view the incredible prizes on offer and place your bids. Prizes include a Jack Vettriano painting ‘Blue Blue’, signed Southampton Football Shirts, and a living room gig from musician Josh Savage!
