Our History
From the middle of the 18th century, the Swan was the principal coaching inn of the town and by 1875, the coaches between London and Southampton used the Swan as a daily stage each way. London bound travellers had breakfast while horses were changed in the stable at the rear, the coach having driven into the yard through the now blocked doorway and hall of the hotel. Overnight accommodation was provided for the gentry and The Swan Tap was available for their grooms.
Our Accommodation
All standard rooms have bathroom (shower & WC) ensuite, colour TV, direct dial telephones, tea & coffee making facilities. Prices: £45 for a single, £75.00 for a double/twin, £80 for a family.
In addition, there are large spacious rooms in the annexe of the hotel with remote control television, hairdryers and trouser press. A bridal/executive suite is also available which includes a four-poster bed. Prices: £55 for a single, £85 for a double or twin, £90 for a family.
All above prices includes VAT and a Full English Breakfast. Dinner is available.
Our Facilities
The Restaurant is open 7 days a week for breakfast, morning & afternoon tea, lunches & dinner. Opening Times 7.30 am to 9.30pm. Hot Food is available all day from 7.30am on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. A carvery is available on a Sunday Lunchtime.
Conference/Private Party Facilities
The Swan Hotel has a unique function room called The Undercroft which is situated at the rear of the hotel. Originally, it was an old crypt dating back 500 years and in recent years has been renovated to provide a room to seat up to 100 people and its own separate bar.
The front dining room, The Cygnet Room can seat up to 35 people.
Both these rooms are perfect venues for conferences, lunches, parties, and reunions.

Road Directions
From Winchester take A31 to Alresford, a distance of approximately 6 miles. Join the B3047 into Alresford town centre, entering the town on West Street. The hotel is on the right hand side.
