What did children used to play with? Have they always gone to school? If they were not at school did they have to work? These are some of the questions that a brand new exhibition at City Space showcasing dolls houses to games consoles will answer.

This free exhibition from Winchester City Council’s museums offers a chance to gain insights into life in a boarding school and free school and see artefacts from a working childhood. There will also be a display of fun and colourful artwork by local artist Emma Barker. Emma’s paintings, depicting fantastical images such as space rockets, dragons and pirate ships, appeal to adults and children alike.

Opening hours are:
Monday to Friday 10am – 6pm; Saturday 10am – 5pm; Sunday 11am – 5pm

Dates

From 31 Jul 2010 - 5 Sep 2010
