Start: Cheesefoot Head car park on the A272, two miles east of Winchester. Grid Ref 529 277.
A demanding and dramatic trail following part of the 'South Downs Way', dropping into Winchester and continuing north out to Micheldever Wood.The climb to Twyford Down is particularly rewarding with its panoramic views of Itchen Valley and St Catherine's Hill. Gentler sections make up some of the return leg.
