Within walking distance from the cathedral, the Brooks Shopping Centre incorporates all the favourite high street names.

Time your shopping trip to coincide with the bustling city market on Middle Brook Street which takes place every Wednesday through to Saturday, selling everything from fruit and vegetables to flowers and second-hand books.

Adjacent to the market you will find King's Walk. This specialist arcade is home to Winchester's antique and craft centre, a treasure trove of curios, from antiques, collectables and jewellery to beads and t-shirt printing. Rest your feet and put your bags down for a while in the centre's café which is situated on the first floor.

Jewry Street, Parchment Street and St George's Street also have boutique and specialist shops for art, antiques and interiors, while Winchester Guildhall plays host to regular antique fairs.
