The Old Vine is the perfect place to meet for lunch, supper or just a drink in relaxed, convivial surroundings.
Their reputation has been built on the quality of the food: the kitchen has won Hampshire Hospitality Awards for the past seven years (most recently in 2013-14) for both this and its use of local produce. Staff are enthusiastic supporters of local food producers, and are members of Hampshire Fare, an umbrella organization dedicated to promoting quality local food in Winchester and further afield.

The menu, which changes monthly, ranges from hearty pub food and tasty bistro classics to delicious fresh fish and seasonal specials showcasing the best produce from the south of England and elsewhere in the UK. Vegetarian options are always available. As the majority of food is prepared from scratch, dietary requirements, such as gluten- free, can be accommodated. Notice is appreciated, but not essential.

Lunch includes light bites, soup and sandwiches made from freshly cut, locally baked bread – the best bread in Hampshire, in our opinion. Try the famous fish finger sandwich – the ultimate in comfort food – or perhaps an Old Vine steak and ale pie made with Ringwood ale.

The restaurant can comfortably accommodate tables of up to ten guests as one party; for larger groups, the courtyard garden room is available for private use, and can seat up to 12 persons.
A roaring log fire is on offer in winter; a sunny, flower-filled terrace in summer (100% smoke-free); and excellent real ales and fine wines in the cosy, oak-beamed bar. Real ale buffs might like to know that the quality of the beer is guaranteed by Cask Marque. The Old Vine features in the Good Beer Guide for 2012, and is a member of Camra’s LocAle scheme, which recognises its support of local brewers.

Private room and meeting facilities
The courtyard garden room, adjacent to the main bar, can seat up to 14 persons when a degree of privacy is required, from family celebrations and small-scale receptions to business meetings.
This room is bright and airy, with plenty of natural light; centrally heated in winter and with folding French doors to open out onto the patio during the summer months.
For business meetings we can organise Wi-Fi access, flip charts, light lunches and refreshments – from a couple of hours to a full day’s use.
And for social functions we can design a set menu to suit your budget and any dietary requirements.

Plus a warm welcome, efficient service and friendly, helpful staff.

Policy on children: kids over six are welcome in the restaurant at any time, and in the bar at lunchtimes and during the day. Children under six have use of the courtyard garden room, and outside spaces. Please note that, due to space restrictions, pushchairs cannot be accommodated indoors, and that we don’t supply high chairs.

Policy on pets: dogs are welcome in the bar and on the outside areas, but are not permitted in the restaurant or hotel rooms.
