Free Internet at Winchester Tourist Information Centre

Visitors to Winchester Tourist Information Centre can now benefit from free internet following the installation of two public access points.

Following consultation with customers about what they would most like to see in the newly-refurbished tourist information centre (TIC), many visitors commented that this would be a useful addition to the services already offered.

The friendly team at the TIC are available as always to help customers with a range of enquiries, whether they are local residents or visitors to Winchester. The free internet access is not intended to replace this personal service, rather to complement it by allowing customers to log on and check information such as onward flights or the weather forecast!

Winchester City Council’s Senior Information Assistant, Sarah Harfield, said:

“Customer feedback is very important to us and we are delighted to have been able to respond this request.  We have recently been awarded the Customer Excellence accreditation in recognition of our outstanding customer service and we are always eager to do all we can to exceed customers expectations.”

Cllr Dominic Hiscock, Winchester City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Prosperity, added:

“It was a proud moment during my office as Mayor of Winchester to officially open the newly refurbished tourist information centre in Winchester.  The TIC team have always prided themselves on going the extra mile and acting on customers’ requests.”

Winchester Tourist Information Centre is open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.
