With summer now upon us, Winchester's Tourist Guides are offering a number of walks over the next month in town and country - and a cycle ride too!
Over the bank holiday weekend, there are two nature walks. On Saturday 28th there will be an opportunity to find out more about St Catherine's Hill, and on Tuesday 31st , an evening walk exploring the natural history of Winnall Moors, which were recently featured in a BBC Countryfile programme.
On Saturdays, 4th June, 'Hidden Waterways' will be revealed, and 18th June, 'Hidden Gardens' opened.
Town walks will include Tuesday evening historical tours of Norman (7th June) and Tudor (21st June) Winchester, as well as a walk to St Cross 'Tracing Trollope' on 28th June.
And new for 2011, will be a Tuesday evening circular cycle ride 'Exploring Village Churches' on 14th June.
Full details of these walks and all 2011 Special Guided Tours can be found on their web site - www.winchestertouristguides.com - or by picking up a leaflet from the Tourist Information Centre in The Broadway (telephone 01962 840500), from where tickets can be purchased, or on the day from the guide.
