On Saturday 30th December the Watercress Line will be transporting you back to a 1940's Christmas with the 'Christmas Leave' event from 10am to 4pm.
Colin Fuller, the dedicated volunteer who has organised the event for the past 4 years has arranged for civilian and military re-enactors to be at the railway all day.
You will also be able to see troops going home. You can stop off at each station with your 'Freedom to travel' ticket. Don't forget to look out for the re-enactors carrying their gas mask cases. Colin has also organised military vehicles to be displayed at Alresford station and 1940's music to be played at some stations throughout the day. It's a great chance to bring family and friends along for a relaxing day out after all the fun and festivities of Christmas.

In association with 'Christmas Leave' a 40s Tea Dance has been arranged in the nearby Alresford Community Centre. 'Dance on the Line' runs from 2.30 - 6.30pm, with an entrance charge of £1.00 to include tea and biscuits. Further details on www.danceontheline.co.uk
