QHotels Norton Park Awarded Silver for Going Green

QHotels Norton Park is celebrating after achieving silver accreditation within the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS).

GTBS, the leading green tourism certification scheme in the UK, assesses hotels against a rigorous set of criteria that includes energy and water efficiency, waste management, environmental impact, biodiversity and innovation.
In a period of just three months, the Hampshire based hotel was awarded 68% - resulting in a silver grade, one of nine properties within the group to achieve this level.

Andrea Nicholas, Manager of the Green Tourism Business Scheme comments: "It was evident that Norton Park was extremely committed and enthusiastic, not just in gaining an award, but aiming ultimately for a gold standard. Guests should feel assured that by choosing QHotels they are helping to support a genuinely environmentally focused hotel chain".

Andrew Mosley, General Manager of Norton Park commented: "We are delighted to have been awarded such an excellent environmental award, which demonstrates we are a clear green choice for our business and leisure guests. The accreditation reflects our commitment to corporate social responsibility and is a major milestone in our environmental journey".

Over the next year QHotels will be working towards other CSR developments including the selection of a company nominated charity for 2010 and a group wide carbon offsetting scheme.
