Watercress Line's website reaches 5 million hits!

March has seen the Mid Hants Railway - Watercress Line's website reach 5, 221,639 hits in a month on their website: www.watercressline.co.uk

The website has been the 'baby' of our webmaster for over 10 years and has been an extremely important part of the railway's marketing mix as well as giving a plethora of information to our visitors. The website includes the latest news of the amazing restoration projects taking place in the Locomotive engineering sheds at Ropley , event information, plus everything else in between. Our website statistics show that we have over 70,000 unique users per month looking at the website, that's 50% more readership of some printed magazines.

The Watercress Line's web master commented,

"Browsers worldwide are very interested in the rapid progress Mid Hants Railway has made over the past 30 years and of course children everywhere, especially in Japan, love our web movies."

The web master prides himself on updating the website at least 2 to 3 times per day. Many of the photographs on our website are contributed by our visitors and are a fantastic pictorial glance at the railway for interested visitors.

The Watercress Line's Marketing Manager Louise Mackay added,

"Our website has been an invaluable marketing tool for over 10 years and continues to keep growing with the business. Our web master is a dedicated volunteer at the railway and his visions for the website have grown over the years. What makes our website so intriguing is that it has updated information on our 'Your letters', 'Loco Shed' and 'Latest News Pages' which make the site so personal and interesting. The site also demonstrates how much work is done to restore and maintain the railway for visitors to enjoy. In our 30th Anniversary year our website is a monument to the achievements of many volunteers who give their time, enthusiasm and support to the railway."
