Green Leaf Tourism Scheme

If you own or manage an accommodation business in the Winchester District why not join our Green Leaf Tourism Scheme (GLTS).

The scheme, which was originally developed by New Forest District Council, is based on a self-assessment checklist, covering areas such as encouraging car-free tourism, the use of local produce, energy efficiency, recycling and the way you make guests aware of your environmental objectives.

The scheme is entirely optional and all those who qualify will be flagged with the green leaf symbol in the Winchester Visitor Guide and listed in a special section on the where to stay pages of our website so that visitors can easily pick out the properties which are most sympathetic to the environment.

We aim to roll the scheme out to attractions in 2009.
