Begun in 1079, Norman architecture remains in trancepts and crypt. The Nave was remodelled in the 14th century and is said to be the longest cathedral nave in the perpendicular Gothic style.

OPEN: Everyday of the year, 8.30am-6pm (5.30pm Sunday). Restricted access during services. Guided Tours Mon-Sat, 10am-3pm.

DAILY TICKETS: Adult £5.00, Sen Cit & Students £4, Under 16s free. Entry tickets include a free guided tour of the Cathedral.

TRIFORIUM GALLERY & LIBRARY
Sculpture, woodwork and metalwork from 1,100 years of the Cathedral's history in the Triforium Gallery. The Library dates from 1150 and its treasures include the 12th century Winchester Bible.


CATHEDRAL MUSIC
The Choir can usually be heard at evensong at 5.30pm Monday to Saturday except Wednesdays and during school holidays. Also at Sunday services at 10.00am, 11.15am and 3.30pm.

VISITOR CENTRE
Opened by H.M. the Queen in 1993, it houses a delightful Cathedral shop and superb restaurants in the Cathedral Refectory and Paul Woodhouse Suite.

Road Directions

From the TIC turn left and walk up the High Street shopping area. Take the 2nd turning left into Market St. The Cathedral is straight ahead with the Visitor Centre, (Shop, Refectory & Paul Woodhouse Suite) located opposite the cathedral on the right.
