Winchester Musicals and Opera Society presents Joan Littlewood's musical entertainment Oh What a Lovely war - in the year of the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.

Built upon the songs that ordinary British soldiers sang during a war that killed ten million in four years, the show offers a satrical and poweful commentary on the ironies and tragedies of war.

Oh What a Lovely War was first performed at Theatre Royal Stratford East in 1963 and was an immediate hit, transferring to the West End in June 1963 and opening on Broadway in 1964 and received four Tony Award nominations including Best Musical.
