Quietly situated in the village of Twyford, just five minutes drive from Winchester.

Highfield Cottage offers self contained bed and breakfast accommodation in a barn-style annexe with its own sitting room/kitchen and two en-suite bedrooms.
The Barn makes a comfortable base for tourists or anyone on business in the Winchester area, being within easy reach of Winchester city centre, Chandlers Ford, Southampton, Eastleigh, IBM Hursley, Aquiva in Crawley, Sparsholt College and the Army training regiment, Sir John Moore Barracks. The Barn is also a convenient base for parents bringing offspring to the local boarding schools such as Twyford School, St. Swithuns, Pilgrims, Winchester College or Winchester and Southampton universities, and Peter Symonds College.
There is a very good village shop serving much local produce, two pubs, one, the Bugle serving excellent lunch and evening meals and a coffee shop, as well as two hairdressers and a travel agent!
There are numerous local walks and cycle rides up onto the South Downs Way and along the River Itchen into Winchester.
Local tourist attractions include Winchester Cathedral, Jane Austen country, Highclere Castle, the setting for Downton Abbey, for our younger visitors - Marwell Zoo and Peppa Pig World at Paulton's Park, The New Forest and the beautiful beaches at Bournemouth.

Twyford is easily accessible by public transport with bus and train links to Winchester and beyond.  Parking for up to two cars is available off street.  Free wi fi is also provided.

By road: From Winchester take M3 (southbound). Exit motorway at junction 11. At traffic lights turn left onto B3335 to Twyford. Just over brow of hill turn right at traffic lights sign to Rectory Lane. Please note if you reach the traffic lights you have gone too far.

By public transport: Stagecoach bus service 69  operates between Winchester and Twyford, there is a bus stop at the end of the lane.  Shawford railway station is 10 minutes walk.
