Handel’s most famous oratorio is traditionally performed in a version which differs significantly from the composer’s original conception.

Winchester Music Club Choir and Orchestra, directed by new Musical Director David Thomas, will be performing it in the version Handel premièred in Dublin in 1742, including several movements not normally heard today. The soloists are Zoe Brown (soprano), Tim Mead (counter-tenor), Joshua Ellicott (tenor) and William Gaunt (bass) and they will be joined by Winchester College Quiristers and Glee Club.

Range from £10 to £35, available from mid-September online from the Cathedral Box Office or by phone on 01962 857 275.
