Boomtown Useful Info

Boomtown is located at the Matterley Estate, near Winchester, SO21 1HW.

Gates open on Thursday 10th August at 12pm (12 noon) and close at 9.30pm.

A limited number of stages, bars and venues open later in the afternoon, with all stages and attractions fully open on Friday 11th August.

From Friday to Sunday the gates are open from 10am to 9.30pm each day. Guests can leave at any time but they will not be able to get back in after 9.30pm until the following morning, even if they already have a wristband.

The car parks will open at 10am each day and close at 9pm sharp.

Getting there

Shuttle Bus
The Boombus shuttle service runs from Winchester train station directly to site from Thursday 10th August - Monday 14th August for only £10 return.

Thursday 10 August – 7am – 9pm
Friday 11 August – 8am – 9pm
Saturday 12th August – 9am – 9pm
Sunday 13th August – 9am – 9pm
Monday 14th August – 6am – 5pm

This service operates one way from site to the station only on Monday.

If you customers find themselves stranded at the festival on Monday morning, you can also purchase a one way ticket at the Festival Shuttle Bus Station for £5.

Depending on where customers need to be dropped off at the site taxis can be in the region of £25 one way.  As traffic and road access can be quite bad not all taxis will take you there – it is at their discretion. 

Drop off Points
For customers being dropped off they should follow signs for the PICK UP and DROP OFF points at the BLUE GATE which will be signposted on the route down to the festival.

If they are being dropped off at Family/Quiet Camping or at The Meadow please follow PICK UP and DROP OFF points at the ORANGE GATE.

Car Parks
There are several car parks around the site and are allocated depending on where people are travelling from and how full the car parks are.

Customers should follow directions from stewards and the routing passes to ensure that we can keep traffic moving and make sure everyone can get home as easily as possible after the festival.

Local Traffic
The following routes will be most heavily impacted due to the festival:A31
M3 (junction 9/10/11)
40mph speed limits will be in force on both A31 and A272 routes near to the festival site.
Gap closures on the A31 will be in force throughout the festival for customer safety.

South Downs Way
A diversion for those walking the South Downs Way will be in place from Monday 7 Aug until Wednesday 16th August inclusive.  There will be signage in place directing people the route of the diversion, this is around the outside of the festival and is purely for safety reasons.
