Interactive Bishop’s Waltham Trail

The town clock in Bishop's WalthamThe building dates from the 17th century and Town Clock House (now Gaudion hairdressing) is mainly 18th century construction.  Look up and see the original town clock which was made and installed by James Padbury who died in 1898, the last of a family of local clockmakers.  Probably the oldest property surviving in the High Street is occupied by the jeweller.  If the alley doorway to the left is open you can see the ancient jetted timber building, part dating back to about 1460.

Continue to the top of the High Street and turn right then left into St Peter’s Street.
